In the evening. Across 76,095 finished FACEIT matches (mostly EU players), 18:00 to midnight CET held 41% of all games, peaking at 22:00–23:00. The quietest time is the morning: 08:00 had just 1.4% of the day's matches, about a fifth of the peak hour.

When you play changes who you play with. It changes how full the queue is at your level, and it changes the chance of running into that one player who is always online at the same time as you. The daily rhythm

Activity bottoms out in the morning, between 07:00 and 10:00 CET. It builds through the afternoon, and by early evening every hour is busier than the one before. The top three hours are 21:00, 22:00 and 23:00. The night doesn't end at midnight either: 00:00 to 03:00 still holds 15% of all matches, more than the whole morning.

The time zone matters when you read this. The chart is in Central European time because 87.1% of these players' games are on EU servers. If you play in North America, your own peak will be a few hours different.

Weekdays vs. weekends

The difference between days is smaller than people expect. The busiest day in this data was Wednesday (15.7% of the week's matches) and the quietest was Friday (12.9%). An even split would be 14.3% per day. Saturday is the one day with a different shape: 29% of its matches finish between 12:00 and 18:00, against about 25% on weekdays, and its evening is correspondingly lighter. Otherwise the hour of the day matters far more than the day of the week.

What to do with this

  • If you want full lobbies and fast queues, the evening is where everyone is.
  • If you keep meeting the same toxic player, check when they play. Most regulars have a routine. If they finish matches at 22:00 every night, that's the hour your block list is doing all the work.

Every time a player tracked with dodged.it finishes a match, the tracker records it. Between 2026-05-21 and 2026-09-27 that was 76,095 matches from 336 players. Each one is counted in the hour it ended, converted to Budapest time (CET/CEST).
