How to get notified when someone finishes a FACEIT match
FACEIT doesn't push an alert when a specific player's match ends. Here's how to get one on your phone with a Telegram bot, what the alert contains, and how fast it arrives.
/track nickname. When that player's next match finishes, you get a Telegram message with the map, score, result and their K/D, usually within 30 seconds. No FACEIT login needed. There are two reasons people want this. One is friendly: your mate is still in a game and you want to queue together the moment they're out. The other one is less friendly: there's a player you never want to meet again, and you want to know when they're back in the pool.
FACEIT's site and client show a friend's status while you have them open. That works if you're sitting at the PC refreshing. It doesn't work if you're making food, or the player isn't on your friends list, which is exactly the case when you want to avoid them.
Set it up in under a minute
1. Open the bot and start it
Open @faceit_trackplayer_bot in Telegram and press Start. It works on your phone, desktop and in group chats (handy for a 5-stack that wants to know when everyone's free). The bot speaks English, Hungarian, Danish, German, Norwegian, Russian and Ukrainian, and /language switches between them.
2. Track the player
Send /track followed by their FACEIT nickname, exactly as it appears on their profile. The bot looks them up and confirms with “Started tracking”. If they change their nickname later, the bot notices and keeps tracking them under the new name.
/track in Telegram Desktop. The bot searches FACEIT, then confirms. (Clip from the dodged.it launch video, player names are made up.)3. Get the alert when their match ends
That's all the setup. Next time the player finishes a match, you get a message like this:
- “nickname just finished playing!”
- the map and final score
- how long ago it finished
- win or loss, and their K/D and K/R for that match
- buttons to open the match room or their FACEIT profile, and one to share the alert
/list.4. Check everyone at once with /list
/list shows every player you track with their Elo, when their last match ended, and a risk level:
- HIGH: finished less than 10 minutes ago. Likely to queue again.
- MIGHT BE IN GAME: 10 to 45 minutes ago. They may already be in their next match.
- LOW: 45 minutes to 4 hours. Probably done.
- SLEEPING: more than 4 hours. Safe to queue.
/list with six tracked players, one in each state, including a banned one. The tags on the right are added for the video. The thresholds aren't guesses. In 33,604 real FACEIT matches, 40.9% were followed by the same player's next match within 10 minutes, and once someone had been quiet for 4 hours, the chance of another match within the hour was down to 3.5%. Here's the data.
How fast is the alert?
The bot doesn't check everyone at the same pace. Right after a player's match ends it checks them rarely, because nobody finishes a CS2 match in five minutes. As the time gets closer to when their next match is most likely to end, it checks them more and more often, down to every 10 seconds. The schedule comes from how long real FACEIT matches and requeues take.
Over 1,136 alerts on 27 and 28 September 2026, the median alert arrived 7 seconds after FACEIT marked the match as finished. 97% arrived within 30 seconds and 99% within a minute. That's well inside the window that matters: only 2.4% of players are already in their next match 3 minutes after the last one ends.
Other things it tells you
- Bans. If a tracked player gets banned by FACEIT you get a message with the reason and how long it lasts, and another one when the ban ends and they can queue again.
- Name changes. You get told the old and new nickname, so a rename doesn't make someone disappear.
Want the bot quiet for a while? /togglenotification off pauses alerts without losing your list, and /untrack nickname removes someone for good.
FAQ
Can FACEIT notify me when a friend's match ends?
FACEIT shows friends' status while you have the site or client open, but it doesn't send a push notification when a specific player's match ends. A tracker bot fills that gap by polling public match history and messaging you.
How fast is the dodged.it alert?
Usually within 30 seconds. The bot checks each player more often around the time their match is likely to end, down to every 10 seconds. Over 1,136 alerts on 27 and 28 September 2026, the median alert arrived 7 seconds after FACEIT recorded the result, and 97% arrived within 30 seconds.
Do I need to log in with FACEIT?
No. dodged.it only reads public FACEIT data. You type a nickname, and there is no account or FACEIT login.
